The Happening FIELDS OF ACTIONS – is Nazarenko's answer to Bruno Latour's Terrestrial Manifesto DOWN TO EARTH, performed at Malkasten Düsseldorf in the group show of "don't you fear the Void"
At this moment, I am a voice in the middle of the room. I hope you are comfortable with the chosen language: German. Please find a comfortable spot, take your time to orient yourself, and look around to see who your neighbors are. Acknowledge and scan your surroundings. Even though I am a voice speaking to you from outside, imagine what might be happening behind the closed door and the windows.During your 15-minute stay in this shared territory, I invite you to embark on a new exploration together. I encourage you to unfold in the space with me. Take this invitation as a moment of arriving in the room and feel free to move. Don’t be afraid; you don’t need to make complicated movements; it’s just about shifting our comfortable positions. When a civilization is confronted with a problem, it is usually aware of it. Nevertheless, it often does not respond to this issue. Why don’t we act? How can we change our inaction regarding significant challenges such as emancipation or urgent political questions? Why don’t we act? When we are disoriented—when we feel a bit lost—why don’t we act???We will begin by defining our territory. Why is it important to define it?I suggest starting on a very small scale because our world is complex, and its entire complexity consists of small actions.
