Statement:
Exchange and discourse formats are becoming part of my artistic material. I see my daily practice more like a fieldwork by engaging myself in conversations and discussions and following my curiosity. A big part of this fieldwork takes place in dance improvisation influenced by the urban dance community and its activist aspect.
I am looking for something that is constructible like an environment for an action, or an action for an environment. At this point I develop new narratives and contexts, where I implement awareness for the way the human race acts in its environment. In my artistic practice, I observe urban and postindustrial environments focusing on chorographical quality of daily routines. I am interested in the togetherness of body and space, considering that every movement hides a moment of irritation.
Often, I do research trips – It is important to me that my work has a space-opening component, and does not just take place in the designated theater space. All the developed projects are done in collaboration with other artists, designers, activists, dancers and audience – And that collaboration is based on mutual appreciation and empowerment. As an artist I feel the urge of being a platform.
